Welcome

Welcome to the website of East Grinstead Cricket Club we are pleased you have shown interest in us. We are an ECB focus club have the Clubmark accreditation and deliver two “Chance to Shine” programmes through our affiliated East Grinstead Cricket Academy. We are a progressive club with two grounds which hosts 5 senior Saturday sides and junior sides of all age groups U9 to U16 who play competitive cricket throughout the week in the Sussex leagues. The members over 16 turn out regularly in the senior sides in addition to several from the younger age groups.

East Grinstead Club at Lords

The 1st XI was a founder member of the Sussex Premier league 29 years ago and apart from a single season approximately 10 yrs ago have remained a firmly established league member. The 2nd XI is a member of Div 1 of the associated second XI league whilst the 3rd and 4th XI’s play in the Stoner Mid Sussex Division 1 and 2 respectively. All the teams are at their highest attainable level.

The club boasts a thriving junior section with over 100 members giving players of all ages the opportunity to be coached and experience competitive cricket for the first time. In the region of 80 to 100 matches are competed every summer in this section. All the coaching is undertaken by experienced qualified ECB coaches who deliver sessions on a Sunday morning and Thursday evening with special sessions on demand. The coaching is against a structured programme which addresses all aspects of the game with an understanding of the “Spirit of Cricket”.

The club was instrumental in setting up the East Grinstead Cricket Academy in 2004 which provides coaching on a regular basis throughout the year not only for players from East Grinstead but all the surrounding clubs that do not have the resources or facilities to undertake such a role. The club now has an excellent player base as a result of all these initiatives.

The fixtures, results, stats, league positions and outstanding performances are available on a link from this website to the East Grinstead Play Cricket site; a simple click will access this information.

The news, events, etc can also be readily found which are updated regularly in particular to keep you posted of the excellent celebrity events which we organise during the year.

We acknowledge all the support given by our sponsors without whom we could not survive, the details of which can be found on the sponsors pages.
